This weeks finds..

We've been busy prepping for the Wolff's outdoor flea market opener this Sunday aanndd the coin op show next week. We were sloppy with pictures but here are a few. We went to so many places this week. And bought a little bit of everything!  So many advertising cans/bottles, lamps, super rare vintage old style canvas print from the 1940's, light up peter hand reserve beer sign, oilers, a bazillion German rhinestones, giant cleavers, polio leg brace, medicine bottles, and heck, a big stack of abalone shells, and so so much more.

A trip to the south and west suburbs

What a day today! Camped out of a sale and was able to score this amazing vintage two rocking chairs and table set by snocraft - the makers of fine snowshoes based in Norway, Maine. The owner said he's had them for over 35 years and he sure did take good care of them.
Other notable picks of the day include two ford penny gumball/candy machines, some giant plastic Santa faces, a v. Muller electromagnetic eye surgery kit from the teens/twenties, bunch of playing cards, lighters, and other nifty smalls.
The weather was beautiful today to boot!
We didn't pick up the 1930's pinball machines or the full-sized skee ball in the basement, but wish we could have

Little late on the uptake..

Got some killer stuff in Indiana this week. A bunch of vintage store hardware displays. Vise grip and brass fittings and eagle lock and more! Also a few boxes of antique hardware, a bunch of killer porcelain enamel lamps/shades, cast base organ stool, folk art horn coat rack, industrial lamps, and lots more!

Also did a dirty dig in the Chicago burbs today. Lots of motorcycle/automobile stuff and my first singer featherweight sewing machine! We will post more pictures tomorrow as we have a good number of picks lined up starting in the pre dawn hours!

Through rain, sleet, and snow...

Maybe not the most practical decision, but we were itching to go to Indiana today.  We woke up at 3am and hit the road.  "It can't be that bad, can it?"
Well, it was. After 5 hours of sheer terror, we made it.  Was it worth it? Yes, I think so.

We got a bunch of signs, some coca cola stuff, cast iron rabbit, a bunch of gas/oil advertising cans, lamps, cattle castraters, dental molds, Parker pen display rack, aluminum hard hats, wool pennants, and more!

And hey, the roads are dry and sunny on our trip home so all worth it.

Some of todays finds

OK so I didn't take as many pictures today as I should have... we picked up a lot of smalls. Lots of liquor/bar related, religious, paper ephemera, signs, and just downright weird. Here is just a tiny bit.

Let there be light!

Finally started listing some stuff in our new etsy shop!

midcenturymisfits.etsy.com

I love lamps so much, so it seemed a fitting place to start.  We still have tons more to put in the shop, but for now, let there be light!

A good mix of industrial gooseneck desk lamps, articulating drafting lamps, some kitsch 1950's animal lamps, a little space age, something for everyone really!

This and that

The snow made for a slow day at the flea market today.  Spent our time fixing up some 1930's desk fans.  Took a few pictures of our progress today!
We have a great collection of 1800's to 1950's medical books that made their way to the shelf today.  Sold a few but still have many left.  Hoping to find lots of exciting new stuff this week!

Also sharing our incredible pin up finds.  The nude paint by number kits have sold, but the ashtrays will be listed for sale in our tobacciana shop tomorrow! Lancienbriquet.etsy.com
